1. Controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is the operator named in the imprint. Contact: [email protected].
2. Hosting and server log files
This website and our games run on a server operated by Leaseweb. When you visit them, the web server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, requested address, status code, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system information (user agent) and the referring page (referrer).
The purpose is the secure and stable operation of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is stored only as long as necessary for this purpose and is not combined with other data.
3. Cloudflare
Requests to this website pass through the network of Cloudflare, Inc. (USA), which we use for faster delivery and protection against attacks. Cloudflare processes the connection data listed above for this purpose and may set technically necessary cookies to detect bots. Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and fast website under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
4. Analytics with Umami
We use the analytics software Umami, which we run on our own server (analytics.communitiesgroup.com). No data is passed on to third parties. Umami works without cookies and does not store any information on your device. It records statistical information such as pages visited, referring page, browser, operating system, device type and approximate country. Your IP address is not stored in plain text and no profiles of individual people are created.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in anonymised reach analysis under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can object to this processing at any time, for example by email to the address above or by enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser.
5. Games (Driftline)
Local storage. Our games keep your progress and settings in your browser's local storage so you can continue where you left off. This data stays on your device until you delete it.
Cloud saves and accounts. To keep your progress across devices, the game creates an anonymous account with our backend provider Supabase, Inc. and stores your save data there. You can optionally link an email address or sign in with Google (Google Ireland Ltd.). We then store your email address and, if you choose one, your display name. Display names and best distances appear publicly on the leaderboard.
Game statistics on this website. When you open the Driftline details on our start page, your browser requests the current top pilots (display names and best distances) and anonymous totals (number of players, runs and distance) directly from Supabase. This request transmits your IP address and technical connection data to Supabase; no cookies are set and no account is needed. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in presenting our game under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Sign-in emails. Sign-in codes are sent by email through our email service provider Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France).
Bot protection. When an account is created or you sign in, we use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans from bots. Turnstile processes technical data about your browser and connection for this purpose.
The legal basis is the provision of the game and your account under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR and, for bot protection, our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can delete your account and all its data at any time in the game (Account screen).
6. Cookies and external content
We do not set any cookies ourselves and do not use advertising or third-party tracking services. Fonts, scripts and images are served from our own server; the only external services are those named in sections 3 and 5.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Austria, this is the Datenschutzbehörde (Data Protection Authority).
